SCSK Europe Limited is a subsidiary of SCSK - a leading Japanese IT company with over 12,000 employees. SCSK is also one of the largest group companies of leading trading company Sumitomo Corporation in Japan. We provide a range of IT services to Sumitomo’s group companies throughout the EMEA & CIS region, covering over 50 offices and 1,000 users. The London office has around 70 staff and contractors.

This role requires someone who is familiar with strategic planning and leading growth as well as BPR and business practices including the general accounting cycle and budget management, with the motivation to enhance their knowledge and skills. Based in London.

MAIN DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES 

  • Identify any challenges for the organisation, and develop and lead a plan for growth.
  • Communicate with Sumitomo Corporation Europe, SCSK and SC to create and lead digital business 
  • Budget development and analysis against actual results monthly, quarterly and yearly.
  • Understand and report individual corporate activities to all managers in a timely manner.
  • Review the answers to SCSK’s regular and irregular requests in Japanese while supervising deadlines. 
  • Review and complete monthly and yearly closing procedures.
  • Review accounting procedures to improve workflow.
  • Review financial accounting work (monthly and yearly).
  • Lead new system implementation work as required.
  • Lead our response statutory audit.
  • Work with third parties on behalf of stakeholders to help meet corporate related requests.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in economics, finance or commerce.

Skills:

  • Fluent written and verbal communication skills in Japanese and English is essential
  • General knowledge of accounting and budget analysis.
  • Strong management skills 
  • General knowledge of IT system management 
  • General knowledge of legal, risk management and HR 
  • Ability to solve problems 
  • Ability to act independently without supervision and take initiative.
  • Ability to work well under pressure.
  • Ability to determine priorities.

Experience:

  • Team management experience with strong leadership and mentoring skills, ideally gained within a large business 
  • International experience/ experience working in Japan
  • Experience in leading organisational reform
  • Experience in working to detailed schedules and strict deadlines.
  • Experience of using multiple systems.
